There’s no doubt that going to an orchard or pumpkin picking can be a blast, especially during autumn. Enjoy the crisp fall air and take a trip to one of Maryland’s best apple orchards and/or pumpkin patches, which are just a short trip away from your home here at 1305 Dock Street!

First, pick…

Gaver Farm, Frederick: In only about an hour’s drive from your apartment home, you’ll reach Gaver Farm. At this farm, pick your own pumpkin, apple, or gorgeous sunflower. They also offer hayrides, and if you go before October 31st, you can swing by their Fall Fest, which is complete with a corn maze and a chicken show. 

Summers Farm, Frederick: Also about an hour away is the scenic Summers Farm. Pick your own pumpkin, enjoy some fresh farm food — which includes wood-fired pizza and homemade donuts — and also stay a little later to rent out a campfire with your friends and family. 

Baugher’s Orchard, Westminster: Take a trip to Baugher’s Orchard, which is less than an hour away from Harbor Point. This orchard will be your go-to spot for all the fun fall festivities, as it has an apple orchard, pumpkin patch, hayrides, live music, scenic wagon rides, and the best apple cider in town!

Larriland Farm, Woodbine: Put on some sturdy shoes and head over to Larriland Farm. Only about 40 minutes away from your apartment home, this farm has all types of fresh fruit and vegetables — from pumpkins to apples to Asian pears to red beets and more — and mouth-watering apple fritters that they make on Saturdays and Sundays. However, be sure to check out their “Today’s Harvest” page before you go to ensure that you’re getting the best harvest possible.

Weber’s Farm, Parkville: Stocked with fresh-pressed apple cider and farm-fresh turkey, Weber’s Farm has everything you’re looking for in terms of fall foods. Pick your own apples and cut your own flowers at this farm, and make sure to stop by the farm market and bakery before you leave — their apple cider donuts are some of the best around! You have no excuse not to go, as Weber’s is only 30 minutes away from Baltimore

Clark’s Elioak Farm, Ellicott City: Last but not least, grab your closest friends and head over to this small seventh-generation family farm in Howard County. Check out their farm market to buy some seasonal vegetables and fresh herbs, and then finish the trip off by petting their goats, sheep, pigs, emus, and the rest of their adorable animals. 

Then, eat!
